As I was looking through A Dose of Prevention yesterday, I was once again amazed by the statistic that one out of every 10 teens between the ages of 12 and 17 reports having abused cough medicine to get high. While statistics like this can be daunting, they reenergize us at Five Moms. I personally am very proud that we recently were able to introduce a new Spanish-language section to our site. Now, Hispanic parents have access here on FiveMoms.com to all the information we have on preventing teen cough medicine abuse in their own language. We’re spreading our message and working together to educate our teens about the dangers of cough medicine abuse. Help us get the message out now, as we all work together to fight this trend.
