It is amazing to think how far the D.A.R.E. program has come in the last 25 years and I am absolutely delighted to be a part of it. Through the program, I have become active about preventing drug abuse in my hometown and community. It also has given me the great position of being a proud member of the Five Moms. This week, I am taking another step in spreading the word about cough medicine abuse, D.A.R.E., and the importance of education. On December 12, I will be in Washington, D.C., for a press conference to speak about how I learned about this trend and how I'm taking action in my own community. When I get back to Kansas, I am sure that I will have pictures and stories to share with all of you. Check in next week to see how everything went!
