Living “Above the Influence”

If you haven’t seen the “Above the Influence” ads all over TV: your kids probably have. They are on MTV just about every 20 minutes. The campaign produced by the White House Office of Drug Control Policy is designed to encourage teens ”as the name of the campaign suggests” to stay above the influence of alcohol and drugs.

The ads are irreverent and funky, clearly targeted at teens. If you see one on TV with your teen, it might provide a good opportunity to talk about substance abuse and cough medicine abuse.

And, don’t forget to check out the Above the Influence web site. It features games, free downloads, quizzes, photos, podcasts, and important information for teens about dealing with the pressures in their lives. Check it out and then pass it on to your teen.
